The experience of volunteering for an RG can be a wonderful way to make new friends if you‘ve just recently joined Mensa or don‘t get a chance to attend many events. The goal of the Phoenix PhenoMenon is to not overtax any one person, so everyone will be able to relax and really enjoy their RG experience. We don’t want any single volunteer, including the committee heads, to be giving up more than a couple hours of their RG time. To accomplish this, we need quite a few volunteers, all willing to give a little bit of their time so no one person ends up working too hard! There are going to be a lot of different small tasks, so you should find one that matches your own personality, and then volunteer to do what you’d be doing anyway! If you're outgoing and enjoy meeting new people, you would make a great speaker greeter. If you’re an early riser, why don’t you volunteer to put out the breakfast one morning? If you love games, you could help set up the games room. If you would prefer helping organize, set up, or tear down, instead of working during the RG, there are lots of things to do. We’ve got jobs for movie lovers, poker players, truck drivers, night owls, good cooks, bad cooks, and even people who just like to hang out and chat! If you’re willing to help, please email the RG Chair, Heather Fallon, at shmethr@hotmail.com, and put RG in the subject line.
