AG Report: 6 Months and Counting |
Can you believe it? 2002, aka “the year the Annual Gathering came to Greater Phoenix Mensa” is here. Before you know it, will be July. Don’t believe me? Didn’t last year fly by? You watch. This year will be the same! If you haven’t sent in your registration, don’t delay. 500 of your fellow Mensans already have registered. And they’re making reservations at the Princess so they can experience the fun of staying right at the site of the AG. At $89 a night for rooms that generally cost 3 times that amount, you can’t beat the price to enjoy a weekend of living in luxury.
The Committee continues to plan a great 4 days and then some. We should be announcing day tours in the next few weeks in addition to the on-site activities. And as the AG gets closer, there are more opportunities for you to get involved. You do want to get involved, don’t you? You don’t just send in your annual dues to sit at home and not get involved. That wouldn’t make any sense! So what we’re looking for are people who will spend an afternoon or so to do some cooking for Hospitality. You’ll get reimbursed for supplies and we can make suggestions on what we need. But home-baked goodies can change an okay AG Hospitality to a great one that people will be talking about for a long time. Help us show our visitors what great Hospitalities GPM puts on. We’re also looking for donations for games for our Games Room. Do you have games or puzzles you don’t need or want anymore? Please contact Barbara Bradley at 623-931-0879 and let her know. We will make every effort to return the dames or puzzles to you after the AG, but suggest you donate only those games or puzzles you no longer want.
