Incoming Message from the Big Giant Head!

Happy Holidays everyone!

Whatever you choose to celebrate (or even if you celebrate nothing at all), I hope the close of 2002 is happy and peaceful time for you and your loved ones.

I cannot believe six months have passed already! It still seems like I just got here as LocSec. Of course, the fact that I am STILL figuring things out has a large part to do with that! :-)

However, despite all of that, GPM still exists and is more or less running smoothly, so I’m going to take credit for not killing it off. I’m also going to thank all of the folks that have been redirecting me, when I head in that direction! (A great ExCom knows how to keep the LocSec from doing any actual damage.)

I cannot thank the above people enough for stepping forward to help out! These are all important roles for our group, and I am glad we could get them filled with such helpful, enthusiastic people! I hope that we can continue to add more folks to our merry band of volunteers. You can never, ever have enough volunteers. Trust me.

On a side note, due to panic over my own holiday shopping and whatnot, there won’t be a PAL hike in December. I thought I’d mention it in case I had inadvertently created any hiking junkies over the course of this year. Hiking will resume in January, just in time for that New Year’s resolution to work off the holiday padding that has accumulated!

Again, I hope you all have a wonderful month, and I will be writing you again next year!
