Those *%$#@ Telemarketers!

Here is a way you might want to consider in dealing with telemarketers.  When they call, just say, ”Hold on, please,” or,  “Just a moment please.”     Then just lay down the phone. When you eventually hear the phone company’s beep-beep-beep tone, you know it’s time to go back and hang up
your handset.  The idea would make each telemarketing call so time-consuming that boiler rooms would grind to a halt.

This is particularly effective when they call during the dinner hour.  Not only do you put the telemarketer on hold, but you also shut off other annoying calls while you are eating.
