for more explicit directions. ) Debra Enos is a specialist on
the subject of Women in Islam. Debra will give a brief presentation on the rights
and roles of women in the religion and an explanation on the differences between
the religion and some cultural practices. Some references will be given from
the Qur’an and other sources. Jihad and War in Islam will be presented by
Thomas Isaak, Assistant Imam (Religious leader) at the Islamic Cultural Center
in Tempe. Is there a difference between the two? Is there more than one meaning
of Jihad, this now often-misused word in the media? Tom will give a quick presentation
on the word, its meaning, and the history surrounding it. Audience participation
is encouraged. We will leave plenty of time for questions and discussion.
