March 2002 GPM Minutes

The meeting started approximately at 12 noon.  The officers in attendance were Jerry Corbin, LocSec; Lauri Vickers, Assistant LocSec; Larry Vercher, Treasurer; Glenn Case, MAAM Editor; Steve Broe, Recording Secretary; and Members at Large: Carol Young, Laura Oliveira, and Eileen Grant,

Glenn Case moved approval of the agenda, seconded by Lauri Vickers.

This received unanimous approval

Approval of minutes: moved by Mel Anderson, seconded by Carol Young. Unanimous approval

Carol Young presented the AG Report. There are 692 registrations, 1400 reserved room nights.

The program chair (Jerry Corbin) reports that there are 50 confirmed speakers, a live band, a comedian, tours, a presentation by Guilt by Association, and a blood drive. There is a formal banquet, and a kids track program in the works.

Carol Young also reported that Science Bowl was a success, held yesterday, and subsidized by GPMensa.

Eileen Grant attended a leadership development workshop held by US Mensa in San Jose.

Larry Vercher reports that the GP Mensa treasury now stands at $8100 in the account, with some accounts payable remaining unpaid.

Lauri Vickers reported that the February forum had 48 in attendance, with a strong report on the quality of the speaker.

Motion to Adjourn: moved by Lauri Vickers, and seconded by Steve Broe. The motion received unanimous approval.
