Regional Ramblings

by Bob Cox, RVC Region 9

There is not much to report on the National level this month. I have no yet received the nominations for the Publications Recognition Program (Newsletter and Web-Pages awards). We are half way between AMC
meetings, so nothing new there. Things have even been pretty quiet in the Region. I could almost forget about a column this month, but then your Editor would be mad at me. (S)he would have to find something else to fill the page and I don't suppose you have sent anything in.

About half my AMC e-mail this week has been about one word. In reviewing the minutes of the last meeting we discovered a word that generated a lot of discussion. I have made up a puzzle for you to amaze and amuse your friends (and to show them how smart you are), here it is.

Question: If a sub-committee meets bimonthly and meets with the board biannually (in place of their regular meeting), how many times does the sub-committee meet between board meetings?

Tell your coworkers that you will pay for lunch for the first one to get it right. WARNING: Check your dictionary first.

It is only about a month until the Annual Gathering, Philly Phrolics, in Philadelphia. I hope to see a lot of you there. You should have already registered for the Orange County Mensa RG, Seven Deadly Mensans,
August 4-6. If you have not you can register at members.aol.com/ocmensarg/ or call 714-972-2760 for a form. It is also time to register for Borderline
