SETI expert Amico Club, 3802 E. Indian School Road 7:00 Friday, Feb. 11, 2000 Ever since man first looked up at the heavens, he wondered about the stars. What are those magical lights, and who put them there? Are we alone in this universe? To fill the dark night skies, he peopled the heavens with gods, ogres, and monsters. Today, we continue with these questions, and populate our more scientific universe with … BEMs, Klingons, and Wookiis? How far have we come in our search? And what will we do if they all turn out to be missionaries and used saucer salesmen?
This month, a SETI expert will brief us on the current search for other life in the universe. What's possible? What are we looking for, and how will we know when we find it? This month only, we'll be meeting in our temporary home of the Amico Club at 3802 E. Indian School Road. To get there from the freeway, take the 40th or 44th Street exit north to Indian School Road. The Amico Club is on the northeast corner of 38th Street and Indian School, with a large sign out front.
We're hoping to have a permanent home for the Forum by next month. We will announce post-forum debriefing location at the Forum. There are several good meeting places nearby, so we've got a good choice. Because of the loss of free meeting space at AutoNation, we're asking for a $1 voluntary donation this month only to partially defray payment for the room. Remember, that's voluntary, but it will help if you do so. Questions? Call Jerry Corbin at 602-438-0958, or jcorbin@primenet.com
