Before you do anything else, please take a moment and vote. Even if there is only one person running for any office, your seal of approval helps make it official.
Some bad news and some good news: Bill Rouse has decided to step down as Membership Chair. We thank him for all his great work helping interested members learn about our organization. Jerry Corbin has stepped up to fill Bills shoes and take over as Membership Chair. He has already formed a small committee to help him answer questions from prospective members and to welcome new members with open arms. If youd like to get involved with this activity, please contact Jerry at 438-0958
WERE ALL IN THIS TOGETHER.
I continuously received requests to call someone who wants to know about the organization, or wants a copy of MAAM sent because theyll be visiting or didnt get theirs etc. etc. etc. And I try to respond to these requests. But sometimes, it just isnt possible: my computer was down for a few days this month, I had problems with e-mail, I didnt attend Fold, Staple and have zero extra MAAMs to give out, I had problems sending an attachment, I problems, period. Or my job got superbusy and I had absolutely no time to do anything extra.
My point is that theres nothing magical about what I do or say to those seeking information. In fact, its so basic that YOU could do it. And Im requesting that you thinking about doing just that. Does someone you know want info on how to join the organization? Tell them what you know. Or find out and get back to them personally instead of passing them on to yet another stranger. Do they need a copy of the calendar? Offer to make a copy of yours and give it to them.
Get involved with your organization as a goodwill ambassador not as a referral expert. It will help all of us. If you have any specific questions that you have been asked and cant answer, please let me know. Id be happy to give you any answers to any questions or make them up if I dont know them either and you can get back to your original contact and sound like as big an expert on the Greater Phoenix Mensa organization as I pretend to be!
