Thank you to all who have graciously agreed to host GPM parties and to those who have spontaneously called to volunteer their homes and themselves for these wonderful social events. For those who do not call because of assumptions that their home might not be large enough or elegant enough or close enough into town, please be assured that these are not valid objections. If you would indeed like to host a party, please call me to discuss these issues and how we have gotten around the fears of others and had very successful Salons. My telephone number is 264 9321.
At this time, I am underwhelmed by the paucity of party hosting volunteers , so I have asked the ExComm for the names and telephone numbers of all new members of GPM. New members are often honored to host a Salon so that the rest of the membership will quickly get to know them. I expect that this will result in a whole new energy emerging in this, the nicest social club that any of us has ever known. We are all so busy with our lives that Mensa parties are a lovely opportunity to socialize with people worthy of our company, without the expenditure of time required to produce such an event. To me, salons are a necessary ingredient in the healing of my soul, so I have taken it upon myself to not only keep them going, but to increase their number with the creation of Soirees and Shindigs.
Our June Salon will be at the home of Paul Nowak (pronounce that as though the "w" were a "v"), past master of parties par excellence. His theme is appropriately enough: No Games. He has a pool and a hot tub, so be sure to remember your towel. His home is at 18220 N. 45th Street, north of Paradise Valley. From Bell and 40th Street, drive north to Robert E. Lee, east to 45th Street and north again to the 4th house on the left. Call him at 971 5111 if you have a question not addressed.
