PARTYING |
Our Labor Day Weekend will be one to enjoy thoroughly this year, highlighted by a Soiree on Saturday, September the 5th at the beautiful home of that great party host, Paul Nowak. Whether he prepares it or the guests arrive with it, the food is always delectable and overflowing. (I think they love you, Paul.) In addition to that, his lovely back yard is complete with a pool and hot tub, and his guests will all be very bright -- guaranteed. Just smile and introduce yourself to everyone in sight and you will be assured of having a wonderful time. And do me a little favor while you’re at it, will you? Please introduce at least two other people to each other to help make everyone feel welcome. You can also put one star on your karma chart for that good deed. Tell whoever asks that Leigh said it was OK.
Paul lives at18220 North 45th Street. From the intersection of Bell and 40th Street, travel north to Robert E. Lee, then east to 45th Street and north to the 4th house on the left. His phone number is 971 5111.
Our Salon on September 19th will be at the home of Roxanne Dillie and her family. She now has a cat to which she is delighted to have no allergic reaction. Roxanne asks that we wear a hat to reflect or personality or mood. If you don’t have anything fun, stop at my house to select from my collection. Thank you so much Roxanne, for filling this date for me on short notice. Blessings to you.
Her address is 4716 W. Crittenden Lane. To get there from the I-10, take the 51st Avenue exit, travel north past Osborn, right on Crittenden which is the first street, and turn right. Lost souls call 245 9680.
All of our parties, unless otherwise stated, start at 7:30, have a participatory buffet and bar and have smoking outside. From my experience, protein foods tend to be eaten first, so if you want to be popular with the eating crowd, take meat, chicken, fish, eggs or cheese. Or nuts or beans. If you are counting your pennies or calories, I would suggest you cut up a few veggies and be popular with the dieting crowd. Most hosts provide a little wine for those who want only a glass or two. More than that, please take your own and either expect to share a little or put your name on it. The host also provides sodas and all the paper and plastic ware. Please put $2 into the owl. Non members please put $4.
