Young at Heart

By Carol Young

Final plans have been made for the Thanksgiving Salon on Thursday, November 27. We’ll begin the festivities at 1 p.m. at the Days Inn at Thomas Rd. and I-17. We’ll be taking over their Arizona Room off the lobby area. You’ll have a chance to socialize with your fellow Mensans and check out the RG site.

As in the past, we need a few good people who will prepare a turkey or a ham. Please call me at 243-0480 or e-mail me at carolrants@been-there.com by Sunday, November 16, if you’re willing to cook a turkey or ham and deliver it to the Days Inn in time for the festivities. For everyone else, please plan on bringing a side dish or dessert and call Maynard at 232-2625 (AKA Badlands Studio) to coordinate what is needed. The Thanksgiving Salon has been one of the nicest get-togethers in past years and we want to continue the tradition.

Please be sure to sign up for the RG. This is the main event of our Mensa year and the most fun. And if you have any ideas of someone who’d be a great speaker for a workshop, or if you’re willing to run a workshop or game, please be sure to notify Bill Rouse at 835-7997 or harleyb@primenet.com and let him know. We’re starting to fill out our RG program schedule and are looking for your input and participation.

That’s it for this month. See you at the Thanksgiving Day Salon!
