It’s time again for Gore National Monument, our annual great backyard Salon and optional campout-for-the-adventurous at the Gore place. If you haven’t been to Monument headquarters in a while, you haven’t seen the great improvements we have made, from the Mensa-proof tile floor and fresh paint job inside to the new patio acreage outside. And yes, folks: the house is now white, with blue trim. Do not spend the evening at the neighbors’ house by mistake. We have the place ready for the hordes of winter tourists, but we always give Mensa first dibs on getting barbecue grill burns or falling into the canyon (well, gulch, anyway). Where else in Mensa can you gaze at distant nebulae through the house telescope or see Web sites being built?
