Overview of Greater Phoenix Mensa events

The events listed here are held at least once every month. Some are held in the same place every time, while others rotate. For more information on an event that catches your interest, follow the links in the summaries.

This page just lists our regularly scheduled events. Every month may feature special events too - check your Calendar for details! Some events recur annually, others are prompted to current events, and some are prompted by interesting natural phenomena.

Salon
GPM's big monthly house party, monthly on the third Saturday at the home of a different Mensan.

The Forum
A monthly lecture meeting with an outside speaker on some topical subject that Mensans are interested in. Since some Forums cover controversial subjects that elicit considerable debate, come prepared to defend your cherished positions.

ExCom Meeting
The "Executive Committee" is GPM's board. The meeting is held monthly in a casual buffet restaurant setting. Check this month's agenda to see if any subject entices you to come and discuss it with your elected officers.

Fold, Staple, Mutilate (FSM)
On each third Saturday evening, we meet at the same home to make next month's newsletter.

Gen-X Events
Step out somewhere new each month with Generation X.

Music SIG
A small home gathering for those who play instruments, or have interesting recordings to share.

Prescott Mile-Hi Mexican Food Night
Every Wednesday at 5 pm at Casa Sanchez, 1459 W Gurley.

PTA
GPM's happy hour celebration, every Wednesday after work in a different bar or restaurant.

Shoestring Gourmet
Every second Saturday, these home cooking fans meet at a different house for a theme dinner they prepare themselves.

Games Night
Fans of board, dice and card games meet monthly at the same home in south Scottsdale to play.

Idea Exchange
A new monthly discussion group held at the same cafe.

Sunday Brunch
Every third Sunday at the same midtown restaurant.

Phoenix Skeptics
This monthly discussion group helps you deconstruct the claims of the credulous.
